Rather than push a dedicated ebook reader, Australian bookseller Dymocks has chosen to follow the tablet route. The company has begun selling the Acer Iconia tablet at selected stores, and offers a free Android app for buying and reading ebooks from its catalogue.

The company is also selling the $579 Android-based Acer Iconia tablet at selected stores, and for a limited time buyers will receive a $100 voucher for the purchase of ebooks from Dymocks.com.au.
"With over 200,000 eBooks on the Dymocks website, our customers will be able to utilise the latest technology from Acer and Google to enjoy books in new and exciting ways," said Dymocks CEO Don Grover.
The app supports payment by credit card, Dymocks gift vouchers, Booklover Rewards points and Acer eGift vouchers. Purchases earn Boolover Rewards points.
The Dymocks ebooks app is available free of charge from the Android Market. The Iconia is available from the following Dymocks stores:
