Mythic is an erotic paranormal romance. It's not overly heavy on sex, but when there are sex scenes, damn they're hot!
Gianna Marino is the female protagonist, and she's no ordinary woman. A vampire/human hybrid, she shouldn't really exist, and she's spent her entire life trying to hide her true nature. Hers is a life that's been fraught with sadness.
When she was just a child, her parents were murdered by the leader of a vampire coven, and she's made it her life's work to find him, infiltrate the coven, and have her revenge. This is the part of Gianna's tale that we're shown. She has successfully infiltrated the coven, and Mattias, the very man she wishes to kill, is completely and utterly infatuated with her. Trouble is, despite knowing she should hate him with every part of her being, she's also drawn to him.
When Nicholas, member of another coven, comes to challenge Mattias and settle an old score, things become increasingly complicated for Gianna. She's extremely attracted to both men - and they're mortal enemies. Plus neither of them know her true nature. Complex much?
Overall, I really enjoyed Mythic. It would have benefited from some tighter editing in places, but the storyline is interesting and solid, and the sex scenes are absolutely scorching hot. I really hope there's going to be a follow-up though, as I felt like I'd been left hanging at the end — what happens next?
