LibreDigital Launches Self-Service Ebook Distribution PortalLibreDigital, a solutions provider for digital books, newspapers, and magazines, announced that it has launched a new self-service distribution portal for small to medium sized publishers. The portal allows publishers with any kind of file to submit their ebooks for distribution on the Apple iBookstore and other marketplaces.
LibreDigital provides a wide range of digital publishing services to seven of the top 10 U.S. trade publishers. These services include distribution to ebook marketplaces, marketing and discovery tools, managed conversion services, and sales reporting and analytics through LibreDigital Business Intelligence. The new portal allows small to medium publishers to sign up online for distribution and conversion services online and achieve the quality levels that are necessary to gain distribution to more than 50 global marketplaces. Distribution services are provided on a revenue share and file conversion services can be charged to the publisher’s credit card based on the costs of converting from the original source.
LibreDigital is one of four approved aggregators for the Apple iBookstore in North America and the only one who can provide all of the services Apple tracks in its aggregator program. LibreDigital has also delivered a number of titles to Apple as enhanced ebook and fixed-format ebooks, helping to deliver the next generation ebook experience on the iPad. The new portal will open up these capabilities to small and medium sized publishers as well.
