Dwayne Ferguson, President & CEO of Diehard Studio Entertainment, is pleased to announce the release of Mutant ABCs. The ABC-learning ebook is the story of a team of mutant ABCs whose spaceship crash-lands on Earth and sets about teaching children the letters of the alphabet and how they are used. The children’s book app is now available for download at the iTunes App Store.

What's more fun than learning the alphabet from colorful mutants from another world? Nothing according to Ferguson, the author of over 40 books, most of which were written for children. “I thought it would be fun to create whimsically memorable characters in the shape of letters. They’re bright, colorful, smiling letters with lots of personality to help kids along the path to reading.”

The Mutant ABCs ebook is more than just fun mutant letter designs and vibrant colors. “Electronic books are the perfect platform for an ABC book,” says Ferguson. “First, the colors are bolder than printed books. Next, you can literally bring the letters and words to life with animations that intrigue and engage children. Finally, you can add sound effects and record a voiceover that provides a guide for pronouncing each letter correctly. All of those are fun teaching tools that you don’t have in a printed book.”

Ferguson, who wrote, illustrated and recorded the voiceovers for the book app, chose fun and memorable words designed to engage kids. The pages are filled with examples like “H” is for Howl, “M” is for Monster and “Y” is for Yucky. Exactly the kind of kid-friendly words that you’d expect from a group of Mutant ABCs!

Having been the Art Director of the fan favorite hit animated TV series Mutant League, Ferguson knows his mutants. He’s also had extensive experience with giant robots, ghosts, superheroes, costumed rangers and singing raisins while creating artwork for popular franchises such as Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Ghostbusters, Transformers and The California Raisins and more. Additionally, Ferguson has written and illustrated numerous books and his own comic book series, Hamster Vice. He's also created artwork for entertainment companies such as Walt Disney, Sony Music, Warner Bros. and Macmillan Publishing.

With that impressive resume and his experience being a teacher for 20 years, Ferguson knows the importance of a visual that can attract and hold a kid’s attention. “Learning the alphabet is the important first step in learning how to read, “ says Ferguson. “I want to connect with the imaginations of kids to entertain them and while I’m doing so, teach them. Mutant ABCs accomplishes those goals. It engages, entertains and teaches kids all at the same time.”

Also available on the iTunes App Store is Dash & Everest: a Very Kitten Christmas. Available in the Apple iBooks Store and on the Amazon Kindle, is the scary fun Screamer’s Kinda Scary Tales for children ages 8 to 12.
