Glenn Llopis Launches Free eBook to Help Employees Save Their Career and Corporations Save Their Business

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) June 20, 2011

Glenn Llopis, who is widely known for his provocative, authoritative viewpoints on workplace issues, Hispanics in America and his immigrant perspective on business leadership has released a new ebook to help employees save their career and corporations save their business. The ebook, "Why Personal Employee Brands Will Save Your Career and Your Workplace" is available for free (for a limited time) at his company’s website. According to Llopis, “my objective is to help people realize that in today’s uncertain economy, we can’t wait for others to help solve our own career problems. We must change our mindset, approach and attitude; and begin to assume the responsibility of ourselves as an ‘employee brand.’ We can no longer view our employers as providers, but rather as enablers of opportunity.”

In a world of temporary employment, the traditional promise of long-term security by employers has vanished. As work life becomes more mobile, increasingly people need to have a clear ‘employee brand’ to carry them from one temporary employment situation to the next. Failure to do so will leave people vulnerable, rather than in charge of their own career. Employee brands become paramount if people are to remain relevant in their work and throughout their career. “I strongly believe that people in the workplace must learn to manage their own ‘employee brand’ or someone else will," Llopis continues. “Isn’t this how people became unemployment victims of the recession? People now must learn how to more creatively take control of their careers by learning how to package their natural skill-sets and capabilities to become more noticeable. This approach not only helps them but their employers perform at their highest levels.”

Llopis’ goal is aimed to help people better position themselves for new and sustainable employment while offering employers new ways to maximize the talent pool and career succession efforts of their workforce. “I believe that by offering the eBook for free it will help accelerate its forward thinking message and cultivate a fresh new attitude about how people can contribute to the workplace in more purposeful and meaningful ways,” Llopis concludes.

About Glenn Llopis Group (GLG):
GLG’s mission is to create a global workplace that will give employees new purpose, put a premium on innovation, and maintain ethical leadership. GLG helps leaders become more innovative, relevant and purposeful in the new economy.

GLG works with leaders to develop their authentic whole selves in how they think, act and innovate. The uncertainty of the post-2008 economy has demanded more from the leaders of America's corporations, in a business world that is more mobile, more transient, more flexible, and more diverse than ever before.

GLG is about helping leaders find their voice and discover their authentic impact and influence. GLG keynote, training, consulting and coaching programs are inspired by Mr. Llopis’ immigrant perspective on business leadership and the Opportunity Mastery Skills as featured in his book, "Earning Serendipity — 4 Skills for Creating and Sustaining Good Fortune in Your Work"; his Immigrant Perspective Blog on Forbes.com and his eBooks, "Why Personal Employee Branding Will Save Your Career and Your Workplace" and "The Six Reasons Why Hispanic Leadership Will Save America's Corporations." Weight Loss for Women Business Plan Unveiled in Anti-Diet eBook

Press Release Source: Rosemary Hershey On Tuesday May 31, 2011, 8:10 am EDT

BURLINGAME, Calif., May 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Rosemary Hershey, author of Diet-Bailout, unveils her anti-diet weight loss eBook using a business plan that helps women take back their power, change habits and lose weight.

According to Hershey, overweight women need to change their diet dialogue with themselves and break out of the on/off cycle in which they are trapped.

Women need a platform that teaches more than what to eat; women need to discover why they eat. Diets lack help for what really matters, how to neutralize urges and hot buttons and win the war with self. Instead, diets do food, a side skirmish in the ongoing battle of the bulge.

Hershey's book offers an eye-opening look at the dynamics of the on/off diet culture and the many ways it traps women. What readers can expect to learn from Diet-Bailout is the core management system to run the business of living life successfully, such as:

How to Leverage How You OperateDiet Turnaround Action PlanDiet Risk Management ToolsAsset/Liabilities/Solutions GridPower Words GridObstacles and Reverse Therapy AnalysisAt-risk Eating SensorsHabit Buster SolutionsBody Language and EatingMental Exercise ProgramHow to Cut Calories and Lose Weight PermanentlyWeight Loss ScriptingDaily Operating Procedures

Diet-Bailout is a hands-on plan to empower women to give up the fantasy that a diet will change their lives. It won't. A diet is a temporary solution that does not last because when the diet ends, everything ends with it and your old habits and weight returns.

Hershey discusses her position that people are always on a diet because people eat every day to feed themselves and sustain their lives. We are always on a diet and it's how we manage that diet that matters. It's how you relate to yourself and the world through food every day, not sporadically, that creates stability.

Women have been misled and need to believe it's about the food they eat. It's about why you eat. It's about giving up what you can't have, an easy fix and putting on the war paint to take a stand and make your life happen. And that takes a new perspective to live aware, ready and courageous enough to go within.

Hershey's Diet-Bailout is that journey wrapped in a business structure that teaches women to process what really matters -- their business of living their lives successfully.

PPC for Your Small Business – SMB PPC EBook Review

I harp on it a lot but PPC is getting really complicated. I’m a search marketer, and it’s near-impossible to stay up to date with the seemingly endless stream of updates to AdWords search targeting, never mind the content network, Bing, Facebook, etc. I think what tends to happen is a bit of analysis paralysis – you spend so much time playing with the newest AdWords feature that you neglect basic PPC best practices and your account winds up suffering.

This is where a clear, organized approach to PPC marketing is vital for small businesses. If I struggle to stay up to date with the newest AdWords features and functionality and it’s basically my business, how is a local business owner or busy marketing director supposed to know where to go once they’re dropped within the AdWords interface? I’ve seen a lot of SMBs spending thousands a month on paid search and display advertising where they’ve filled in every ad extension and turned on every experimental feature, but neglected basic blocking and tackling like negative keywords, sound use of match types, ad copy testing, etc. It’s important to understand what’s important, what’s less important, and how to build a solid methodology around it.

This prioritization and methodology is precisely what Elizabeth Martsen’s new pair of eBooks “PPC for Your Small Business” attempts to develop for small businesses looking to get the most out of PPC.

Elizabeth is the Director of Search Marketing at Portent Interactive. I’ve long been a fan of the Portent blog, Portent founder Ian Lurie’s blog, and Elizabeth’s posts in particular (some good examples of her writings if you’re looking to “try before you buy” are a series on taking the AdExcellence exam, updates to product feeds and rich snippets, and a great guide to AdWords Remarketing that I pointed someone with questions about the feature to just this week) so I went into the eBook anticipating that it would be a pretty valuable read.

The first eBook in the series Elizabeth walks through the basics of PPC advertising. She starts at what I think is really the beginning and the number one thing I see SMBs getting wrong: setting budgets and goals. The fundamentals of PPC are driving leads and ultimately sales for your business – many small business owners get so caught up in the rather overwhelming mechanics of PPC that they seem to “forget” that this is just a form of advertising their business, and they need to see profitable returns for their investment. Elizabeth does a nice job of grounding the discussion in these terms right off the bat, and walks through some of the basic math and general approach to running a profitable PPC campaign.

From there she takes a very nuts-and-bolts approach to helping advertisers understand how to initially set up their campaign with sections focused on:

Keyword researchCampaign structureFree tools to help get your first campaigns off the groundMatch typesVery basic, initial bidding strategiesNegative keywordsAd copy best practicesAccount settingsPPC landing pagesHow to measure resultsMeasuring results

For me the strength of the book is in what I’d describe as an “Apple approach to information sharing” – the only pieces included in the eBook are the essentials. I think a small business owner trying to figure out how to get maximum returns from AdWords would have a really strong understanding of what makes for solid, effective PPC campaigns after reading this first eBook, and wouldn’t be weighted down by confusing information overload.

The second eBook focuses more around continuing PPC campaign maintenance. Beyond the idea of how to measure and focus on goals, I think the second biggest question I see small businesses asking in regards to PPC management is “where do I go from here? What do I do next?” This is the focus of this second eBook.

Elizabeth starts with what I think is an under-talked about area of PPC: trouble shooting specific issues (like what to do when your PPC campaign isn’t driving any traffic). I really love the format here of problem/solution, and it’s obvious from the get-go that this eBook will offer a lot more specific detail around particular scenarios and more granular best practices than the first. I think she does a great job of covering off a nice range of FAQs regarding PPC issues (obviously from having managed and inherited numerous PPC accounts).

She then moves on to talk about:

How to get more out of your budgetHow to expand your campaignLeveraging the content networkUtilizing some of the more powerful AdWords tools and featuresSome links to more advanced content and techniques

Again I think the strength here is that there’s a progression before specific tools and features are introduced, and when they are she highlights the most universally useful features within AdWords: too often I think beginners turn to blogs and sort of “jump in half way through the story” and have new AdWords features introduced to them before they understand the basics of PPC advertising.

One of the cool things about buying and selling low-priced eBooks and tools in the search space is that seemingly small improvements to paid and natural search campaigns can lead to really big yields for your business. I think these eBooks do a great job of walking small business PPC advertisers through the process of creating a PPC campaign to managing it on an ongoing basis, but for $37 and a minimal time investment, all you really need to get out of the book is one actionable tip to have to it pay for itself many times over. Well worth the investment for SMBs who are new to AdWords or looking to get more out of the platform, from my perspective.

Abilene Public Library enters the eBook business

 Larry Steagall

When it decided to hop into the eBook business, the Abilene Public Library didn't even have to publicize what it was doing.

Demand for downloadable literature was so high that people started using the library's eBook service as soon as it went live in January.

"We were surprised by how many people found it before we even said a word about it," said Ricki Brown, city librarian.

The library previously had offered downloadable music and audiobooks for users, but the eBook initiative represents something different altogether. It's taking the service that libraries are best known for and digitizing it.

But the timing makes sense: with Nooks, Kindles, iPads and tablets of every stripe taking over the market, reading a classic suddenly looks hip again.

The library partnered with eBook distribution company OverDrive in the endeavor, which currently features 218 titles. In two months, those books have been digitally checked out 774 times, Brown says.

Patrons at the Tom Green County Library in San Angelo download from the same system as Abilene users.

So how does it work? Library card holders shop for a title, then download it straight from the library's website. Users can choose a one- or two-week checkout period.

From there, they can read it on a computer (using additional downloaded Adobe software), or export it to a mobile device for on-the-go reading.

The download expires and essentially deletes itself at the end of the checkout period, which leads to an unexpected benefit: the potential death of late fees.

While the program works for most tablet readers, the Amazon Kindle isn't compatible with Adobe software, which has cost the library one of the most popular devices on the market. That might change in the future, but library staff can only guess when.

Due to the usual bit of early troubleshooting that came with the launch, the library has posted a lengthy series of tutorial videos on its website and YouTube page. Each device's operating system has its own set of quirks, and compounding the problem is the fact that the market is saturated with them at this point.

Which begs the bigger, if speculative question: where does all this downloading leave the library building itself in the years to come?

"The bricks and mortar library is not going away," said Janis Test, the library's information services manager. "People have been predicting its demise for years and years."

The more likely outcome, Test says, is hard and digital books each having a niche, the way radio, television and all of our other entertainment distractions coexist today.

But the early returns suggest that the old library stacks will have to make room for their digital counterparts.

Benefits of Ebooks for Your Business

No matter what type of home-based business you operate, chances are ebooks are already or should be part of it. Most of us are familiar with the term and probably have seen at least one ebook, but you may not have realized how beneficial they could be for your business.

Ebooks do have a number of benefits:

1) Affordable to Create

Unlike many products, ebooks can be produced inexpensively. They don't require expensive materials or equipment.

2) Inexpensive to Distribute

With most products, you have to cover some of the shipping costs and those costs can be considerable. Ebooks are accessed by the customer directly from the Internet, so no shipping charges are involved.

3) Appeal to a Wide Audience

Ebooks can be designed to attract almost any type of customers. Because you control the topics of your ebook, you decide who to target. If you sell educational children's toys, you could develop an ebook for parents. If you sell copywriting services, you could create ebooks on how to write successful content.

4) Increased Credibility

When you put your ideas and advice in book form for people to buy and read, you are selling yourself as an expert they can trust. When people trust you, they are more likely to buy from you.

5) High Profit Potential

Ebooks cost little to create and to distribute, but customers perceive them as being highly valuable so you can charge more for them than you might expect. Prices between $20 to $50 for an ebook are not uncommon and almost every penny of that revenue is your profit.

6) Versatile

Ebooks are one product that can serve a multitude of purposes. For one, they do make excellent additions to your product catalog. They can also be offered as free gifts to entice customers to purchase from you.

You can use them as marketing tools through affiliate programs, contests, and more. Ebooks can also be transformed into audio cassettes or other multimedia information products to further increase your profits. Try doing all of that with any other type of product.

As you can see, ebooks are truly packed with benefits. They are an asset to any type of home-based business whether they are used to increase revenue or bring in more business.

So how do you create an ebook that will allow you to take advantage of all of these benefits? You'll find the answers below:

1) Writing the ebook - Some ebook creators choose to write their own ebooks. While this is the most cost-effective option, it does require a great deal of time and confidence in your writing skills. Another option is to hire a freelance writer who can do the work for you. The work will be completed faster and you can be assured of having high-quality copy in your ebook.

2) Designing the ebook - Ebooks can be fairly straightforward in their design, but for maximum effectiveness, they do need a few graphical touches. If you're not an artist and don't

already own some sort of desktop publishing software, you can use ready-made templates that work with Microsoft Word, such as Word Ebook Templates available at (http://www.ebookgraphics.com/mytemplates2.html) or a program such as Ebook Composer (available at http://ebook-composer.com) which also allows you to add multimedia effects to your ebooks.

3) Compiling the ebook - If you already have Adobe Acrobat on your computer, then it can effectively compile all of your pages into an ebook. However, other compilers are also available for purchase.

Prices on these programs vary but most of the costs will be recouped after you sell only one or two ebooks. Some examples of compiler programs are Activ E-book Composer (http://www.ebookcompiler.com) and E-ditor ([http://www.nukanweb.com/ebooks/editorial2/editor2.html]).

4) Creating an ebook cover - The last stage of your ebook's development is putting together a graphic for your virtual front cover. This cover makes your book look more professional and more eye-catching, so it will appeal to more people and sell more copies.

You don't need to be an artist or design whiz to create one either. There are a variety of programs available which will do it for you, such as eCover Studio (http://www.ecoverstudio.com) and eCover Generator (http://www.ecovergenerator.com).

Not all of these programs are necessary to create a successful ebook, but they can definitely be of assistance. Purchasing them can set you back a few dollars, however, but you'll regain that investment and more quite quickly, especially if you plan on creating multiple ebooks.

No matter how you create your ebook or what uses you find for it, chances are ebooks will quickly become a welcome addition to your home-based business.

15 steps to a Successful Ebay Ebook Business

Here's are 15 simple steps to make a success of your eBay Ebook Business.

Step 1: Choose your niche or market.

Too many ebay ebook sellers list any ebook they can get their hands on, but there is nothing to say you have to copy them.

Remember quality is much better than quantity.

Choose your Niche i.e. Babies, Dieting, Fitness and build up your ebook stock on one particular subject.

Remember, when an ebayer buys an ebook from you, it's more than likely that they are interested in that particular subject and will therefore become a repeat customer.

Step 2: Watch your competition but don't copy them.

It's always a good idea to find out who your competition is on eBay. I'm not telling you to copy everything they do, but at least KNOW what they are doing.

Sign up for their mailing list, learn how they are getting customers to their ebay store or items.

Watch how they promote the items they are selling. Use their experience to improve your own items and sales.

Look for any flaws they have in their auctions, perhaps they don't link to their other items, maybe they don't have an about me page, this is where you can move in and STEAL their customers.

Step 3: Imagine the next sale.

Try to imagine the next sale, if someone buys an ebook about keeping fit, what other ebooks would they be interested in? Perhaps healthy recipes or low fat recipes.

There are thousands of resell rights ebooks on the internet today, choose a subject you are interested in, then make it your mission to sell every ebook related to that subject.

Do this and watch your repeat customers increase daily.

Step 4: Start small and grow your ebook business.

There is no point listing thousands of ebooks immediately.

Start off small and gradually grow your ebay business.

List a few ebooks and see what works. Remember, it does not cost a high amount of money to list an ebook but listing thousands of ebooks on ebay will soon see your fees eating up all of your sales profits.

Step 5: Try, Try and Try again.

Keep testing your ebook auctions to see what works.

Keep trying different titles and different item descriptions, if your ebook is not selling it's probably due to a bad description or title. Keep working on your auctions until you have a system that works then apply it to all your auctions.

Step 6: Use a Standard Template for all your ebay ebook auctions.

Using a standard template on your ebay auctions listings will give you a professional appearance.

If you can't design your own template, search on the internet for free ebay templates that you can use.

Make sure your template for ebay auctions always contain links to your about me page, your feedback, your ebay shop and a link to add you as a favourite seller.

Step 7: Buy new ebooks and stay up to date.

If you have targeted a certain niche or subject, and you are getting repeat customers, they will eventually have purchased every ebook you have. So you have to buy new ebooks and expand your ebook business. If you don't, you will lose the regular ebay customers you worked so hard to find.

Search on ebay and on the internet for new titles related to your subject and make sure you are selling the most up to date ebooks.

Step 8: Always offer a 100% refund.

Make sure any ebook you list on ebay is of the highest quality, then you can offer a 100% refund if a buyer is not happy.

Do not be scared to offer refunds, if the ebook you are selling contains good information and does what is says on the tin, so to speak, you won't be inundated with refund requests.

Step 9. Read the Ebook, Use the Software.

If you are selling an ebook, always read it first. This will tell you if the ebook has good content and may also give you help composing your ebook description.

If you are selling software make sure you use it! There is nothing worse than a buyer emailing you and asking question about the software and you can't answer it. It will make you look unprofessional and the buyer will probably never buy from you again.

It's also a good idea to check any links in an ebook, never sell an ebook that contains outdated links or links that go to "page cannot be displayed" again buyers will not be happy with their purchase.

Step 10. Give it time.

You are not going to start selling 100 ebooks per day immediately, it takes time. So have patience.

Give ebayers and the Search Engines time to find your items for sale. Slow and steady is always a good rule, many ebook sellers will tell you that selling ebooks is simple, and it is ONCE IT IS SET UP.

Step 11. W.I.I.F.M

When you sell an ebook, or any item on eBay, ebayers will always ask themselves the same question, "What's In It For Me?". You need to list the benefits of buying the ebook, convince the potential buyer that they simply cannot do without this ebook.

There is not point simply rambling on about all the great things your ebook or software can do, describe exactly how the ebook will affect the buyer personally.

If it's a dieting ebook, tell people how great they will feel when they lose weight, how happy they will be when their clothes fit better, how their self esteem will be boosted with lots of comments on their appearance from friends and family.

Step 12. Start a mailing list or newsletter.

If you have an eBay shop, you can start your own newsletter, you can use this newsletter to send out emails advising ebayers of new ebook items you have listed.

If you don't have an eBay shop you can still set up a mailing list, I personally use Aweber but there are many auto responder mailing lists available on the Internet just perform a search on Google. Some are free but will include advertising or limit you to only 10 messages.

Step 13: Automate as much as you can.

As you eBay eBook Business grows you will begin to sell lots of ebooks. You will need to devise a system for ensuring buyers receive their downloads. There are many good instant digital delivery systems you can use. I recommend MYDD, you can fully automate all your ebook deliveries.

Step 14. Back End Sales.

When you make an ebook sale on ebay always follow it up with a polite email to ask if the buyer received their download.

Remember you don't have to simply give a buyer a direct download link, send them to a download page. On this download page you can have a sign form to your Autoresponder, you could have a link to your website or you could have a link for an affiliate product that will earn you a commission.

Step 15: Don't Give Up!

No matter how low your sales are, no matter how bad things look, don't give up.

It may even look like everything is going wrong! But stick with it!

Just keep trying and testing. It takes time to build up an ebay ebook business but if you keep working hard you will finally make a breakthrough.

If your ebooks are not selling change the title or the description.

Each time you sell an ebook, improve the listing, don't simply click to relist, that's plain lazy! Try and improve your item listing every single time.

Apply these simple 15 steps and you will make your eBay Ebook Business a success.
